Every Piece Has a Maker
Most rattan homewares are rolled out by machines and priced like they weren't. Ours are woven by hand — by people we know, in workshops we've stood in. This is how WovenCo began, and why we'll never be a factory brand.
- Woven entirely by hand — never factory-rolled
- 100% natural rattan & seagrass
- A staple in Indonesian homes for generations

Why WovenCo Is Different
The details that separate genuine craft from something that just looks like it on a shelf.
Woven by Artisan Hands
No machines. No factory floor. Each piece is completed by a single craftsperson using traditional Indonesian weaving techniques refined over generations.
100% Natural Materials
Rattan, seagrass, water hyacinth. Zero synthetic fibres, zero plastic coatings. Every material is biodegradable and chosen to age beautifully, not degrade.
Built to Last Years
Thick-gauge rattan, reinforced base joins, a dense weave that won't loosen. Our pieces are designed to still be in your home in five years, not five seasons.
Ethically Made
We work directly with small family workshops in Indonesia, not mass-production factories. Fair pay, safe conditions, and genuine respect for the skill involved.
It Began With a Basket That Wouldn't Break
A few years ago I carried a woven rattan basket home from a market stall in Central Java. It was nothing like the homewares I'd been buying back in Australia — the ones that frayed, wobbled, and ended up at the tip inside a year.
That basket is still on my shelf today. So I went looking for the person who made it, and found a small workshop where a single artisan wove every piece by hand, using a technique their grandmother had taught them.
What I learned is that these aren't novelty pieces. They're the rattan Indonesian families have lived with for generations — in homes across Java and Bali, passed from one to the next. That was the day WovenCo started: a simple belief that this craft shouldn't be so hard to find, and that owning something handmade shouldn't mean settling for something built to last one season. Now, for the first time, we're bringing it to Australia.

The Story Behind Every Piece
Most rattan in Australian homewares stores is machine-made to look handmade. Every piece here genuinely is — and this is exactly how it's done.
Woven by Hand, One Knot at a Time
Each piece takes hours to complete. A single artisan in a small Indonesian workshop — no factory floor, no conveyor belt. Just skilled hands, natural rattan, and a tradition passed down through generations.
Shipped Directly, Nothing Lost in Between
Straight from the weaving workshop to our Australian fulfilment centre. Fewer hands in the middle means the maker's work reaches you exactly as it left them — intact, and honestly priced.
Arrives Ready to Style
Carefully wrapped and delivered to your door in 3–7 business days. Every piece includes a care card so it stays beautiful for years to come.
